The fragrance of Devi puja

Rose is the flower most offered to Maa Lakshmi and Maa Durga, and gulab agarbatti carries that association into daily worship. Where chandan is dry and grounding, gulab is soft and sweet — the fragrance households reach for on Fridays, during Navratri, and at Diwali.

Details

  • 100 g pack of rose agarbatti
  • Hand-rolled
  • Soft, sweet floral gulab fragrance
  • Even burn with low smoke

How to use

  1. Light the tip, let it flame briefly, then blow it out so the tip glows.
  2. Use a holder with an ash tray rather than standing sticks in rice.
  3. One or two sticks is sufficient for a room.
  4. Ventilate during and after burning.

Storage

Keep the pack closed, cool and dry. Floral fragrances fade faster than woody ones when left open to air.

A note on smoke

All incense produces smoke and particulates. Burn in a ventilated room and avoid small closed spaces or use around anyone with a respiratory condition.

Ideal for

Lakshmi and Durga puja, Friday worship, Navratri, Diwali, Karwa Chauth, daily mandir use, and general home fragrance.

Rose is the flower most offered to Maa Lakshmi and Maa Durga, so gulab agarbatti is commonly used for Devi worship, Friday puja, Navratri and Diwali.

Rose is soft, sweet and floral. Sandalwood is warm, dry and woody. Chandan tends to be preferred for meditation, gulab for Devi puja and general home fragrance.

Floral fragrances fade faster than woody ones once exposed to air. Keep the pack closed in a cool dry place.

One or two is enough for a room. More does not make the offering greater, it only adds smoke.

With ventilation, yes. Avoid burning incense in a small closed room, particularly around anyone with asthma or a respiratory condition.

Roughly a month to six weeks for a household burning one or two sticks daily.
