What makes a samagri blend premium

The difference is not the weight. It is the ratio.

Standard samagri is mostly herb and bark with a small resin content. A premium blend carries a higher proportion of the expensive components — guggal and other resins, aromatic woods, and dry-fruit offerings such as copra, dates and makhana. Those are what give the smoke its depth and what a pandit notices immediately.

How it is offered

1. Build the fire in a havan kund with samidha, lit with camphor and ghee.
2. Offer samagri with ghee at each svaha, using the spoon or the right hand.
3. Close with purnahuti and let the fire burn down naturally.
4. Let the ash cool fully, then disperse it in a river, garden or at the root of a tree.

Storage

Sealed, cool and dry. Resin-rich blends clump if they take up moisture; a sealed container keeps the blend loose and free-flowing.

Safety and ventilation

Ventilate thoroughly, use a heat-safe base under the kund, keep water nearby, and never leave a lit havan unattended.
