Bhoomi Pujan Kit

Bhoomi Pujan is performed before the first brick is laid. It asks permission of Bhoomi Devi — the earth herself — and of the Vastu Purusha who resides in the plot, before construction disturbs the ground. Why This Kit Is Built Differently

• Twice the havan of a household kit. 2 kg samagri and 2 kg samidha. Bhoomi Pujan is performed outdoors on an open plot, where a small fire will not survive the wind.
• Navdhanya included. The nine grains are buried at the foundation point with the kalash — the step that most generic "puja kits" omit entirely.
• Navgrah wood mix. Wood from the nine planetary trees, offered into the havan to settle graha influences over the plot before building begins.

How Bhoomi Pujan Is Performed

1. Clear and level the plot. Identify the north-east corner (Ishaan kona) — the puja is performed there.
2. Dig the foundation pit at the chosen point on the muhurat morning.
3. Spread the red cloth and set up the puja. Worship Ganesh first, then Bhoomi Devi and the Vastu Purusha.
4. Read the sankalp aloud, naming the owner, gotra, plot and the structure to be built.
5. Perform the Navgrah Shanti with the navgrah wood mix, offering for each of the nine planets.
6. Build the havan kund, kindle it with samidha and camphor, and offer the 2 kg samagri with the mantras.
7. Place the navdhanya, a coin, supari and the kalash into the foundation pit and seal it.
8. Lay the first brick or the foundation stone over the sealed point.
9. Perform aarti, offer dakshina, break a coconut and distribute prasad.

Choosing the Muhurat

Bhoomi Pujan is traditionally performed in the morning during Uttarayan (roughly mid-January to mid-July), on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, avoiding Amavasya, Rahu Kaal and the Chaturmas period in many traditions. Akshaya Tritiya and Basant Panchami are considered particularly auspicious. Confirm the exact muhurat with a pandit for your plot's location and the owner's birth details.
