Shri Ram Janmotsav Ki Sampoorna Pooja, Ek Pavitra Box Mein.
Ram Navami closes the nine days of Chaitra Navratri and marks the birth of Bhagwan Shri Ram — Maryada Purushottam, the seventh avatar of Vishnu. The household installs the Ram Darbar, performs the janmotsav at midday, reads from the Ramcharitmanas, and offers bhog according to its own tradition.
The Advik Rituals Ram Navami Puja Kit carries 38 essentials for that day — the Ram Darbar picture, the full tilak and naivedya set, aarti samagri, an optional small havan, and three printed cards: vidhi, mantra and sankalp. Curated in Kashi.
Why 38 Items, Not 51
We could pad this box. We would rather it be Ram Navami specific than merely large.
Every item here belongs to this festival's sequence — Ganesh pujan and purification, Ram Darbar worship, tilak, naivedya, aarti, and a small optional havan. Adding a kalash sthapana set or a navgrah offering would raise the item count and the price without adding a single step to the ritual you are actually performing. Count what a kit does, not what it lists.

Perform the Puja at Madhyahna, Not in the Morning
This is the detail most households get wrong, and it matters more than any item on the list above.
Shri Ram is said to have been born at noon. The Ram Navami puja is therefore performed in the madhyahna muhurat — the middle of the day, roughly the two-and-a-half-hour window around midday — not at sunrise and not in the evening, as most other pujas are. The janmotsav itself, when the cradle is rocked and the birth chaupais are sung, is timed to the madhyahna madhya, the exact midpoint.
Check a panchang for the madhyahna window in your own city. It shifts with local sunrise and sunset, so a muhurat published for Ayodhya is not automatically correct for Pune or Kolkata.
How to Arrange the Ram Darbar
Place the Darbar picture on the red or yellow cloth, facing east or north-east. In the traditional arrangement Shri Ram is at the centre, Sita to his left, Lakshman standing beside them, and Hanuman at their feet in seva. Nothing should stand higher than Ram in the arrangement.
The Puja Sequence
- Shuddhikaran and sankalp. Purify the space and yourself with gangajal, then read the sankalp card, naming yourself, your gotra and the purpose of the puja.
- Ganesh pujan. Worship Gauri-Ganesh first, as every puja begins.
- Ram Darbar pujan. Offer roli, kumkum, chandan tilak, akshat, mauli, janeu, itra and flowers to the Darbar.
- Bhog and mantra japa. Offer fruit, panchmeva, mishri and your family's traditional bhog. Recite the Shri Ram mantra from the included card, the Ram Raksha Stotra, or passages from the Ramcharitmanas.
- Janmotsav at madhyahna. At the midday moment, sing the birth chaupais and celebrate the janma.
- Havan — optional. Families performing havan can use the included samagri, samidha, gomay cakes, til and jau, with ghee arranged locally.
- Aarti. Perform the Shri Ram aarti with the clay diya and Bhimseni kapoor, then distribute prasad.
A Note on Bhog — Panakam and Regional Traditions
Ram Navami bhog varies more than almost any other festival's. In much of South India the day is inseparable from panakam — jaggery water with pepper, cardamom and dry ginger — served with kosambari and buttermilk. North Indian households more often offer kheer, halwa, panchamrit or seasonal fruit. Some families keep a full fast until the madhyahna puja; others do not fast at all.
We deliberately do not ship a bhog and call it universal. Mishri, batasha and panchmeva are included as shelf-stable offerings so the puja is complete regardless, and you prepare your own tradition's bhog fresh.
Ram Navami and Chaitra Navratri
Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri — the two are one continuous observance for households that keep the full nine days. If you are observing Navratri as well, the Navratri Puja Kit covers the ghatasthapana and the nine days of Devi worship that lead up to this day. Households that also keep a Hanuman mandir may want the Hanuman Jayanti Puja Kit, since Hanuman Jayanti follows on the Purnima about six days later.
What You Arrange Fresh
Kept out of the box, because it will not travel and because quantities and traditions vary:
Fresh flowers • Tulsi leaves • Mango leaves • Fresh coconut • Seasonal fruit • Banana • Milk • Curd • Honey • Ghee • Panchamrit ingredients • Fresh mithai and prasad • Paan leaves • Oil for the lamps
Ghee is not included, including for the havan. It adds weight and leakage risk in transit, and good ghee is available in every Indian city.
