Navgraha Shanti, Ghar Ki Sukh-Shanti Aur Shubh Sankalp Ke Liye.

Grah Shanti is not a festival puja. It is a structured remedial ritual — Ganesh pujan, kalash sthapana, worship of all nine grahas with their own grains and mantras, and a havan with navgraha samidha. It is undertaken when an astrologer advises it, before a major undertaking, at griha pravesh, or at the turn of a mahadasha.

The Advik Rituals Grah Shanti Puja Kit carries 60 essentials for that ritual — including twelve separate grains, a navgraha samidha set, kusha, a kalash, a small havan kund, and five printed cards. Curated in Kashi.

Twelve Grains, Because Each Graha Takes Its Own

This is what separates a Grah Shanti kit from a general puja box, and it is where most sellers cut corners.

Navgraha worship is not one offering repeated nine times. Each graha has its own associated grain, offered separately during the puja and into the havan — wheat, rice, the four dals, black and white til, jau and mustard, alongside the navdhanya set itself. Ship one bag of mixed navdhanya and the ritual cannot be performed as prescribed; you would be improvising at the fire.

You have twelve grains here in individually weighed quantities, plus a complete navdhanya set and a navgraha daal set. Which grain goes to which graha differs slightly by sampradaya — your pandit will direct the order and the placement.

The Havan Kund Nobody Includes

Grah Shanti requires a havan. That means a fire, in a container, in a household that almost certainly does not own one.

What happens otherwise is familiar: a steel thali, a brick arrangement, or a borrowed kund that arrives an hour late. A small havan kund is included here — along with four gomay cakes, four cups, a wooden spoon and two matchboxes — so the fire is not the thing that delays the muhurat.

It is the least ceremonial item in the box and one of the most useful.

The Arrangement Matters

The nine grahas are not placed in a line. The commonly followed arrangement is a three-by-three grid with Surya at the centre and the remaining eight in fixed directions around him — each facing a prescribed way, each receiving its own grain, flower and mantra.

Placement and mantra order vary between sampradayas, and this is the part a household performing it alone most often gets wrong. The vidhi card in this kit gives the common arrangement; follow your pandit where the two differ.

This Puja Wants a Pandit

We will say plainly what most product pages will not.

Grah Shanti involves kalash sthapana, nine sets of Sanskrit mantras recited in a prescribed order and count, and a havan. Unlike a Friday Lakshmi puja or a Pradosh evening, this is not a ritual most households can perform correctly from a card. Engage an acharya. The kit is the samagri; the vidhi is his.

And because Grah Shanti can be generic or horoscope-specific, your pandit may ask for additions this box cannot anticipate — a particular cloth colour, a specific dan item, or materials tied to one afflicted graha in your chart. Share the item list on this page with him a week before, not the night before.

Grah Shanti or Navgrah Shanti — Which Kit?

  • Grah Shanti Puja Kit (this kit) — the complete remedial ritual, with kalash sthapana, twelve individual grains, navgraha samidha and a full havan with its own kund. Choose this when an acharya is conducting a proper Grah Shanti or Navgraha Shanti havan.
  • Navgrah Shanti Puja Kit — the lighter set, built around a nine-yantra Navgraha collection for household worship. Choose this for a general planetary peace performed at home without a full havan.

The Puja Sequence

  1. Shuddhikaran. Purify the space and the samagri with gangajal.
  2. Sankalp. Read the sankalp card, naming yourself, your gotra, rashi and the purpose of the puja.
  3. Ganesh puja. Worship Gauri-Ganesh first.
  4. Kalash sthapana. Establish the kalash with gangajal, supari, akshat and a coconut, covered with the kalash cloth.
  5. Navgraha puja. Install the yantra or picture on the cloth. Worship each graha in turn with its own grain, akshat, flowers and mantra.
  6. Navgraha mantra japa in the counts your acharya prescribes.
  7. Havan. Kindle the kund with gomay cakes and samidha. Offer the 250 g samagri, guggal, kala til, jau and the navgraha samidha with each graha's mantra.
  8. Aarti and prasad. Close, offer dakshina, and distribute the prasad.

A Note on Astrological Remedies

Grah Shanti is a traditional Vedic practice performed for peace of mind and as part of a family's religious observance. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, financial advice or legal counsel, and we make no claim about outcomes.

What You Arrange Fresh

Fresh flowers  •  Mango leaves  •  Paan leaves  •  Fresh coconut  •  Seasonal fruit  •  Banana  •  Milk  •  Curd  •  Honey  •  Ghee  •  Fresh mithai  •  Panchamrit ingredients  •  Tulsi leaves where required  •  Dakshina

Ghee is not included. A navgraha havan consumes a substantial quantity and it is available in every Indian city — the weight and leakage risk are not worth passing on to you.

Yes, a small havan kund, with four gomay cakes, four cups, a wooden spoon and two matchboxes. Grah Shanti requires a fire and most households do not own a kund — this is the item that otherwise delays the muhurat.

We would not recommend it. It involves kalash sthapana, nine sets of Sanskrit mantras in a prescribed order and count, and a havan. Engage an acharya. The kit is the samagri; the vidhi is his.

Possibly. Grah Shanti can be generic or horoscope-specific — a particular cloth colour, a specific dan item, or materials tied to one afflicted graha in your chart. Share the item list on this page with him about a week before the ceremony.

No, and we would not claim so. Grah Shanti is a traditional Vedic religious practice performed for peace of mind. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, financial advice or legal counsel.
