Naye Sthal Mein Shubhata, Shanti Aur Pavitra Aarambh Ke Liye.

Vastu Shanti is performed on the building, not on the family. Its subject is the Vastu Purush — the being who, in tradition, lies pressed beneath every structure with the directions holding him down — and the puja is an accommodation: permission to live and work in a space built over him.

The Advik Rituals Vastu Shanti Puja Kit carries 61 essentials for that ceremony — the Vastu Purush yantra, kalash sthapana, navdhanya and ten further grains, kusha, a full havan with navgraha samidha and its own small kund, and six printed guides including a house purification checklist. Curated in Kashi.

Vastu Shanti or Griha Pravesh? They Are Not the Same Ritual

These get booked as one event and they are two, performed in a fixed order.

  • Vastu Shanti comes first. It pacifies the structure and the Vastu Purush within it. It is done on the property, ideally while it is still empty.
  • Griha Pravesh comes after. It is the family's formal entry — the threshold crossing, the first boiling of milk, the first meal cooked.

Most families hold both on the same morning, Vastu Shanti then Griha Pravesh. This kit is for the first.

Do It Before the Furniture, Not After

The commonest mistake with Vastu Shanti is doing it too late.

The puja belongs to an empty or near-empty property — before furniture is installed, before anyone sleeps there, before work begins in an office. The havan smoke has to reach every room, every corner and every recess, and that is impossible once the house is full of boxes and a wardrobe stands against the north wall.

If you have already moved in, the puja is still performed and still valid. But if possession is ahead of you, keep two clear days between handover and move-in and do it in the gap. It costs nothing, and it is the difference between a thorough purification and a symbolic one.

The House Purification Checklist

This card is one of the most useful things in the box, and it is a sheet of paper.

After the havan, the smoke and the kalash water are carried through the property — and a family doing this for the first time invariably misses the same places: the bathrooms, the store room, the stairwell, the balcony, the space behind the main door, the north-east corner itself. The checklist walks the property room by room so nothing is skipped while thirty relatives wait.

Set Up in the North-East

The puja is established in the Ishaan kona — the north-east corner — with the Vastu Purush yantra on the cloth and the kalash beside it. Open every window and door before beginning so air moves through the whole structure.

Directional practice varies between traditions and your acharya may position things differently. The vidhi card gives the common arrangement; follow him where the two differ.

The Ceremony Sequence

  1. Space purification. Clean the property thoroughly and sprinkle gangajal through every room.
  2. Sankalp. Read the sankalp card, naming the owner, gotra, the address and the purpose — home, office, shop or commercial premises.
  3. Ganesh puja. Worship Gauri-Ganesh first.
  4. Kalash sthapana. Establish the kalash with gangajal, supari and akshat, covered with the kalash cloth.
  5. Vastu Purush puja. Install the yantra and worship with akshat, chandan, navdhanya, flowers and the Vastu Purush mantra.
  6. Navgraha puja where your vidhi includes it, using the grains and navgraha samidha.
  7. Vastu havan. Kindle the kund with gomay cakes and samidha. Offer the 250 g samagri, guggal, kala til and jau.
  8. Property blessing. Carry the havan smoke and kalash water through every room, working from the checklist.
  9. Aarti and prasad. Close, offer dakshina, and distribute the prasad.

Home, Office, Shop or Factory

The same ritual serves all four. It is performed on newly built and newly purchased property, after major renovation, when taking possession of an older building whose history is unknown, when moving into leased commercial premises, and periodically in businesses. Quantities here suit a household or a modest commercial unit — for a large floorplate or a factory, tell us before ordering and we will advise on a bigger havan.

What This Kit Does Not Claim

This is ritual samagri, prepared properly and completely. We do not claim it removes all Vastu dosh, guarantees prosperity, or fixes financial problems. Vastu Shanti is a traditional observance performed for peace of mind and as part of a family's religious practice. Where a structural Vastu defect exists and can be corrected, most practitioners would advise correcting it — the shanti puja is performed alongside that, not instead of it.

Your Pandit May Ask for More

If your acharya works to a Vastu Mandal, he may require items no standard box can anticipate — bricks, soil from a particular place, small metals, gemstones, directional offerings, or simply larger quantities for a big property. Share the item list on this page with him a week before the ceremony, not the night before.

The Rest of the Property Cycle

A property has more than one ritual moment. See the Griha Pravesh Puja Kit for the family's entry ritual, the Bhoomi Pujan Kit for the ground-breaking before construction, the Grah Shanti Puja Kit where the concern is planetary rather than structural.

What You Arrange Fresh

Fresh flowers and garland  •  Mango leaves  •  Paan leaves  •  Fresh coconut  •  Seasonal fruit  •  Banana  •  Milk  •  Curd  •  Honey  •  Ghee  •  Fresh mithai  •  Panchamrit ingredients  •  Tulsi leaves where used  •  Lemon where required  •  Dakshina

Ghee is not included, and a Vastu havan uses a good deal of it. Buy it locally.

Possibly. An acharya working to a Vastu Mandal may require bricks, soil, small metals, gemstones or directional offerings that no standard box can anticipate. Share the item list with him about a week before the ceremony.
